We arrived at Maumee Bay State Park (Ohio) with the wind blowing at over 40 mph, {and we were worried about the hurricane!). Being used to high winds from the Jersey Shore, we removed our bikes from storage at the back of the RV, and rode the nicely paved bike trail to Lake Erie. Nice! Ruthie put her toes in Lake Erie and will test other Great Lakes in the coming days. Her reaction was, “it’s not the Jersey Shore!”
On the way here, we found a great farm stand set in the middle of a peach orchard. The best peaches ever...and truly great midwest tomatoes (unlike the alleged Jersey Fresh which just don't stack up).
Follow the travels of Morey & Ruthie in their Winnebago SUNSTAR, Blowin-in-the-Wind {and other side trips}.
This Fall we're heading back out west. COVID will be in our thoughts as we plan for adventures while we stay safe! Our plans are to head first to Colorado, then zip over to Utah. Lots of hiking and biking are planned along our route.

Camping near Jersey Shore (PA)
We just set out this afternoon on our journey, and couldn't quite cut the cord! So we're camping tonight in middle of nowhere Pennsylvania, near Jersey Shore.
Bald Eagle campground is a nice place to spend our first night on the road.

Will hurricane Earl cause us to be "blowing in the wind" ??
Hurricane Earl is scheduled to "brush" the Jersey shore this Friday. Do we leave early and head to the hills (Danny's house in Easton)? Or do we ride out the storm?
Local weather forecasters don't expect more than some rain.
We're keeping tabs to see if we need to blow this town early!

Our 60th Birthday Party
Thanks to all of our friends for joining us for our celebration of our birthdays. And extra thanks to our "kids" for doing all of the prep work and keeping the party in action. And extra extra thanks to our grandkids for being so terrific and cute.
Party is now over and its time to get ready to roll!

COMING SOON - BIW gets its christening
Our friends will join us for the official christening of Blowin-in-the-Wind. We've been looking all over for a champagne bottle that has thin glass -- would hate to put a hole thru the fiberglass sides!

Lonesome Lake
We biked the 4 miles down to Lafayette campground, locked our bikes and headed up the trail to Lonesome Lake. It was a 1.2 mile hike to the edge of the lake -- through rocks and thru a climb of almost 1,000 ft.
As promised by Morey, the weather turned from an overcast sky with occasional sprinkles to a magnificent day with blue sky and puffy clouds.
We walked along the lake on the board walks (literally a couple of boards over a log) to where the AMC hut rests. Found an area to stretch out, enjoy our picnic lunch... and then take a brief snooze in the afternoon sunshine!
Tomorrow morning, its time to unhook the water and electric, pull in the slides, raise the levelers, and drive back to New Jersey. Next RV trip is our BIG ONE !!

Franconia Notch NH
Did we complete a tri-athelon?!
Biked the Bike Path thru Franconia Notch, to the "Basin", where we hiked to Knisman Cascades and Falls -- WOW, what powerful water from all the rain we received last night and this morning.
Then Biked to The Flume...where we hiked to the Flume Gorge and thru two covered bridges.
And then, biked back to our campsite on Echo Lake; stopping first at the lodge to buy some pretzels and cheese to go with our beer.
And now Ruthie is cooking chili and rice!! Have to bulk up for tomorrows adventure!
