Follow the travels of Morey & Ruthie in their Winnebago SUNSTAR, Blowin-in-the-Wind {and other side trips}.
This Fall we're heading back out west. COVID will be in our thoughts as we plan for adventures while we stay safe! Our plans are to head first to Colorado, then zip over to Utah. Lots of hiking and biking are planned along our route.

R&R on St. Georges Island !!
After an enjoyable week at WDW, it was time to get some R&R with our "old" (not age, but how long we've known each other!) friends, Ray & Ann. Set up camp at the State Park at St. Georges Island and enjoyed the warm and sunny weather. Loved the gulf waters; so nice and warm for this time of year.
Had some great days together getting caught up on "things".
Also had incredible dinners of local shrimp and scallops....and of course the appropriate beverage!!

Walt Disney World - A good reason to be in Florida
Ruthie and Morey arrived at WDW, set up camp at Fort Wilderness....and waited for the kids and grandkids to arrive the next day.
Once all together, we visited the Magic Kingdom 3 times - our favorite; and also Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney Studios.
Following daily reviews, Jack and Logan tell us that the favorite events were the parades, the fireworks, Tiki Bird House, Speedway, Wedway (believe it!), and Buzz Lightyear Arcade ride.
Morey almost got sick on the rockets in Tomorowland, Logan was loving it and wanted to keep pushing the rocket higher. Being three years old, Logan was in total awe and only asked no more pirate rides.

We all enjoyed our camping at Fort Wilderness, and particularly the pool which included a special water slide and water jets which are exclusively for under 48" tall. Also enjoyed seeing Chip and Dale at the nightly marshmallow roast and movies.

Camped at Tomoka SP with the Bikers
They forgot to tell us that it is Biker Week, here in the Daytona Beach area. Surrounded by camping Harley's......the rumble of the engines mixed with the campfires.
Took a bike ride on the Ormond Scenic Loop, which meanders through marshes, oaks, and palms. A beautiful sunshine blue sky day.
Tomorrow we're off to Disney World, but will Ruthie take her new "bike" instead of riding with me in the RV??

It's a BLAST ! Good friends, great touring, and 2 Forts
With our friends Stu & Ronnie, we spend 10 days touring 2 forts, Ft. Clinch on Amelia Island, and Castillo San Marco in St. Augustine. Also walked and enjoyed the old towns at both locations and had some great meals. Camping in our RV included fine accomodations and in celebration of our friends visit, Camp Pizza (a repeat of a long ago memory).
Ended our time with Stu & Ronnie with a moonlight kayak in the bay by our campground at Anastasia State Park. What a nice reunion!

A few days seeing our NC kids, then Charleston, and now Florida
Just crossed the border into Florida and camping at Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island. Temps went up to the low 80s -- love that Florida weather in the Winter! Have a great camp site and waiting for our friends Stu and Ronnie to join us tomorrow from the North Country (as in Michigan).
On the way we first took our RV out of storage and spent a few days with Michael, Jess and baby Jordan. What a cutie. Jordan got a perfect 10 on his 4 month checkup, so now its time to bring on the rice cereal!
Then we went back to James Island County Park in Charleston. A great place to camp and see the city. Walked around Charleston, checking out all of the old houses (including the Drayton Hall Plantation - untouched for a 100 years; no electric nor running water--just like the good old days) museums, and gardens. And of course had to have some great eating too (The Husk--GOOD!).
