This Fall we're heading back out west. COVID will be in our thoughts as we plan for adventures while we stay safe! Our plans are to head first to Colorado, then zip over to Utah. Lots of hiking and biking are planned along our route.

Back to Oscar Scherer, FL

We hopped on an on-time Spirit airplane and made the quick and easy flight from Atlantic City to Tampa.  Stepping out of the airport, the feel of Florida was back; warm and not too humid this time.

Our first stop was a trip to Lazydays to pick up our motorhome which had been left for some minor collision repairs 7 weeks earlier.  Promised it would be completed upon our arrival, but when we stepped out of the airport to hale an Uber, the phone rang.  "Mr. Edelman, I have some bad news for you". So we picked up BIW with the primer paint still evident and a new appointment to return in a few weeks for its completion.

Onward to the State Park, but first a stop for provisions.  By the time we got to our campsite (the same one as two years ago), it was dark, but Ruthie grabbed a flashlight and expertly guided BIW into the spot.  Ah, we've arrived!

For the next two weeks, we checked out many of the sights around Sarasota and Venice.  We have also enjoyed some good seafood!

Two weeks in one place; a record length for us, was not too long.  Here's a partial listing:
-Downtown Sarasota's Farmers Market

 -Marie Selby Botanical Garden

-Sarasota Symphony
-Lido Beach
-Owens Fish Camp in the middle of downtown Sarasota
These were all enjoyed during our 4 day car rental.

Over many days, we biked over 130 miles using the Legacy bike trail, a round trip to Casey Key checking out all of the "beach" mansions, and a bike ride down to Venice Beach....and of course some Kilwin's ice cream.

And we can't forget to mention our nice kayak along the creek that flows by our campsite.
