This Fall we're heading back out west. COVID will be in our thoughts as we plan for adventures while we stay safe! Our plans are to head first to Colorado, then zip over to Utah. Lots of hiking and biking are planned along our route.

Got a haircut at Ivans

Truth or Consequences?
Yep, that's the town where Ivans is located.  Nice haircut and only $12.

And in case you were wondering, TorC used to be called Hot Springs, NM.  In 1950, Ralph Edwards, host of the radio show, Truth or Consequences, offered any town in America that if they would change their name to TorC, he would visit and plug them on the radio.  The fine citizens voted, and by a huge majority the name was changed!  True to his word, Ralph Edwards, came to celebrate; and continued to come for many years where the town park is now named for him.

Following the haircut, we headed to our campsite at Elephant Butte State Park.  The dam was built almost 100 years ago, but looks like it hasn't aged even 50!  Behind the dam is the largest lake in New Mexico, holding the waters from the Rio Grande River.
